Dale Maisey

Hi, I'm Dale Maisey.  I am married to Nigel and we have two daughters - Olivia and Rachel.  I am originally a country girl from Southland.  I have worked at Westside United Travel since 1992, 5 years as Manager and when the opportunity presented itself to buy the business, I jumped at it.  When I'm not working, I am usually doing something fairly social and not too physical.  I play a little golf and practice yoga, support my fairly sporty kids and treasure quiet moments with a good book.  I love travel and travelling.  In order to do this job well we have to travel regularly to stay up to date and to experience the destinations personally.  Place I have been include - Fiji, Rarotonga, Vanuatu, Tahiti, New Caledonia, Hawaii, USA, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, India, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo, Dubai, Egypt, Australia, Norfolk Island, China and Hong Kong...I have cruised the Mexican Riviera and the Caribbean.

Alana Aldridge

Hi, I'm Alana Aldridge.  I'm a local Christchurch girl and started as a Travel Consultant in 1999 after my travel training, and have been with Westside United Travel since 2002 so I'm one of the 'old crew' now!  My partner Clayton and I recently bought our first home so gardening and renovating have reluctantly become two of my pastimes.  However travel is my favourite pastime and places I have been include: China, many parats of Australia, Tahiti, Rarotonga, Fiji, Singapore, California, Las Vegas, UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, Dubai, Vanuatu and cruised in Australia and the Pacific.  Next on my list is Vietnam.  When I'm not planning our next holiday or doing something to the house I enjoy mountain biking, walking our dog or anything that involves being out socialising with friends and family.

Jenny Pawson

Hi, I'm Jenny Pawson.  I joined Westside United Travel in 2002 after returning from a 4 year OE in the UK.  During that time I backpacked around the UK and western Europe.  I am now a more sedate traveller, keen on 'softer adventure'.  Place I have visited include: Africa, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Canada, a cruise in Alaska, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bali, Fiji, China, Australia and many states of the USA - including getting married in Las Vegas!!  My husband Andy and I have now entered parenthood and no doubt the UK will feature in our holiday plans again to show off Finn to his extended family.

Kirsti Butler

Hi, I'm Kirsti Butler.  I'm the new kid on the block, having started at Westside United Travel in April 2008.  I had moved from another agency in Rangiora after four years in the travel industry since completing my travel training.  In my spare time I enjoy relaxing with my husband Adam and our furry family in our green vegetable garden - coming from Lumsden in the deep South, I'm a bit of a country bumpkin! Consequently I've travelled around most of New Zealand and parts of Australia such as Melbourne and Gold Coast.  Next to cross off my growing list of destinations are a South Pacific cruise and Fiji.

Hi, I'm Ray Thomas and I have been involved in the travel industry for 36 years as a Consultant, Travel Manager and Owner Operator of 2 Travel Agencies.  I am now a Mobile Travel Broker, living in Lincoln, servicing the Canterbury District for Westside United Travel.  I enjoy meeting clients at their home - after hours and discussing their travel requirements in the privacy of a relaxed environment - I know how difficult it can be sometimes getting into an agency to plan your trip.  I have extensive knowledge and experience, having travelled throughout Europe (including Russia), Canada, USA, South Africa, South America, the South Pacific, Australia and Asia, either independently or coach touring as well as cruising.  I would be happy to pass this knowledge on to you to help make your holiday more enjoyable.  I have excellent client referrals and my speciality in dealing with groups is backed by many letters of recommendation.

Hi, I'm Garry Waterreus.  I have enjoyed over 35 years in the travel industry and owned my own Travel Agency in central Christchurch for 26 years.  Now 'semi-retired' I've been travelling frequently and have taken two small group escorted tours with Westside United Travel in the past year - To Vietnam and China - both very successful.  I'm told that I have a charming friendly manner (my wife Lin would probably agree with that too!) and I have loads of experience to help make the difference for people who do not enjoy travelling on their own.  I also offer Travel Broker service for a small group of clients, most of whom I have worked with for many years.

Hi, we're collectively known as 'the back office' crew of part-timers at Westside United Travel and between us we have worked here for 45 years!  That's a whole lot of history and experience we bring to the business.

Tracey Udy is Dale's Assistant and handy odd-job-person when not at home in the country with her two young girls, husband Mark and her horses.

Jacqui Johnson is our Processor (preparing all the travel documents and itineraries), juggling a busy schedule involving her two school children, voluntary school duties and baking morning tea goodies for husband Scott and our office shouts!

Sally Dickson was the original Travel Manager 20+ years ago and is now involved part-time as an owner, administrator and person-Friday (actually Wednesday at the moment!), in addition to her 'day job' for NZ's largest conference organising company, Conference Innovators.

Roz Brittenden is our Accounts Clerk, keeping the business on the straight and narrow and in the black. She's a busy grandmother too and we hope that Roz and husband Richard don't decide to retire soon as we'd miss her terribly!
